Meet Cleandra

Counselling Psychologist

Hi,

Thank you for your interest in therapy.

I believe that every personal attempt to deepen understanding is a dedication to society as a whole.

I work through the lens of compassionate acceptance and appreciate that everyone survives by amassing a collection of helpful and unhelpful coping mechanisms. These strategies have got you to your current place in life. I understand that not all habits are helpful or useful in the long term, however, I honour and appreciate them as they were all necessary to get to where you are today...A perfect example of successful survival

I'm trained in several disciplines: trauma, grief, EMDR somatic integration, attachment theory and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), as well as bringing 20+ years of meditation, yoga practice and teaching, to help you gain insights to achieve your desires, both in a personal and professional sphere.

But this is not a one-size-fits-all approach. I use an eclectic style to help you gain integrated and rooted insights that create profound and lasting change. I know from experience that the necessary help and therapeutic experience will be different for every client, depending on individual circumstances and history. Therefore I work collaboratively with you, to find the pace and style that works best for your needs. This means my approach to each client is individualised to support their particular concerns, issues and strengths.

In addition to my therapeutic skills, I also rely on the valuable skills I cultivated as a yoga and mindfulness teacher with 20 years’ of experience. In both therapy and yoga. Hope, connection, insight, awareness, and curiosity are the key elements to walking the path of self-actualisation.

I specialise in helping individuals who've faced trauma in childhood.  As well as those experiencing relational difficulties or challenges with self-esteem and creative flow. I can also provide support during life transitions, such as moving, welcoming a new child, divorce, and of course, bereavement.

I particularly enjoy working with couples facing intimacy, infidelity and communication issues. It is so rewarding when, after attending sessions, a couple are able to reconnect.

But whether working with individuals, couples, families or children, I am inspired by the fierce bravery that I meet every day. I count it as a privilege to hear my clients’ histories and feel their trust as we work together to get them to the change they need.

If you feel I could help you, then reach out today and take that first step. I'd love to hear from you.
